See You At The (NYS) Fair!
Come to Syracuse on August 24-26 for delicious food, eye-opening exhibits, captivating entertainment…and free e-bike rides at the New York Bicycle Coalition booth! We are hosting an exhibit at the 2018 New York State Fair in Syracuse to showcase various types of bicycles and spread the word about the of joy of cycling to 80,000 daily fair-goers.
It’s the 173rd time the fair has been held, but the first time the NYBC will be making an appearance. If you plan to attend The Fair and are a fan of cycling, you can help out the NYBC and take a shift or two staffing our bicycling-positive, education- and safety-focused exhibit during the last weekend The Fair will be open to the public.
We are recruiting volunteers to staff the exhibit. Our booth will be open Friday-Sunday, August 24-26.
What’s in it for you? Volunteers get free admission to The Fair, free car parking and a nifty souvenir t-shirt. Also, free admission to fair concerts and events, including Ludacris on Friday night and Counting Crows on Saturday night.
Volunteers will assist with bike rides, explaining the rules of the road, enlisting new members, and general outreach and friendliness.
Riding a bike is fun, family friendly and good for your health. We have an array of bicycles at our FREE BIKE RIDE exhibit and have great safety and education material to getting you going and to insure that you ride safe!
