NYBC has a had a long and close working relationship with Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) throughout New York.  Every MPO has staff assigned to bicycle and pedestrian issues and NYBC members and supporters should think about attending the open public meetings.  Your presence and feedback counts and is important. Visit this link for more information on how you can get involved!!

Briefly, MPOs are independent government agencies that set priorities for the allocation of federal transportation dollars, including funds for bicycle and pedestrian projects.   Individuals, club representatives, staff of bike shops, and community groups interested in human powered transportation, equity issues, car replacement and  a multi-modality need to be present and involved.
