Thanks to new funding from GTSC and other sources, (members, angel donors, new organizational partners) NYBC’s staff is finally growing and approaching the size necessary to create an effective and leading statewide bicycle, pedestrian and active transportation organization.

Welcome to Education Director Ken Crandall, Educational Coordinator Tom Polk, Long Island Chapter Coordinator and 2017 NYS Bike Summit Assistant Allison Blanchette, Social Media Intern Alexis Gonzalez, and mountain bike guy Billy Fowks, who has redesigned our website and is providing us monthly “dirt glove” service to keep the on-line chain greased. Each month, we will highlight another member of the growing NYBC peloton.

Ken became a part of the NYBC team in October of 2016 as our first Education Director. He is a League of American Bicyclists League Certified Instructor and a board member of the Troy Bike Rescue in Troy, NY. Ken is passionate about bicycle education and safety. As such, he led the organization of the Safe Cycling Troy initiative which works with under served populations through homeless shelters and other community organizations to teach safe cycling principles and provide essential safety equipment. Ken comes to us from the IT sector where he worked as a software trainer and project manager. Ken is a proud husband, father, and future grandfather.
